Even though we knew it was coming, we saw HISTORY last night with the nomination of Barack Obama for President of the United States Of America. I can remember other moments in History during my life time that where as historic such as the death of JFK, Robert Kennedy, MLK, The Moon shot, The I have a dream speech, Watergate, 9/11 and others. For me I'm proud to support Obama and Biden. I'm proud of the Dems for this change in History. * - - - - - *
Hydrox cookies, the first creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookie, began returning to grocery stores nationwide in late August for a limited time. This unprecedented reintroduction on the part of Kellogg Company, in response to impassioned consumer demand, comes in honor of the cookie's 100th anniversary.

The boys came by today to work and we got alot done. We (they) moved two of my computers up stairs to my den. I'll set them up in the next few days.
We also moved my BIG ASS TV up on the step into the dinning area. I don't think this TV is long for this world. I see these red and blue lines around the words on the screen. Hey Mick your as old as McSame think that's part of the problem? I'm just saying.
We also did some trimming of some low hanging branches around my deck.
Finally, they took some wood chips up to the fence that Jada has worn a path on thinking she is herding the neighbors dogs when they are out.

Well I got a date for my new deck. They'll pour the footing on Friday Sept. 12th and come back on the following Monday the 15th and do the deck itself.

"I think we have this assumption in the West that capitalism, that free markets lead to free societies, that capitalism will lead to democracy in China, that it's almost an automatic process. Once income levels reach a certain level there, that this political [change] is going to happen in China, just as it did in other parts of the world. Man I don't get this. I've been using my Quicken software for years and years and have never had a problem. The same with my debit card. Why is it these voting machines have so many problems.
A voting system used in 34 states contains a critical programming error that can cause votes to be dropped while being electronically transferred from memory cards to a central tallying point, the manufacturer acknowledges. The problem was identified after complaints from Ohio elections officials following the March primary there, but the logic error that is the root of the problem has been part of the software for 10 years, said Chris Riggall, a spokesman for Premier Election Solutions. The flawed software is on both touch screen and optical scan voting machines made by Premier [formerly known as Diebold] and the problem with vote counts is most likely to affect larger jurisdictions that feed many memory cards to a central counting database rapidly. It never ceases to amaze me that eight years after the whole Florida debacle, and four years since the shady Ohio vote count, that virtually nothing has been done to fix all these voting "irregularities." It's really inexcusable.

When it comes to Barack Obama, your argument that the man is defined by the company he keeps is laughable and down right stupid.
Checking Bush's own administration you need to go no further than the VP, retired AG Alberto Gonzoles, Sec of Defense Rumsfeld and don't get me started with his supporting cast of neocons. Remember it was Bush that pledged he would bring Honor and Integrity to the White House. How'd that work out.
Applying your logic to President Bush he needs to check his address book in terms of fund raisers Jack Abramoff (you remember him right?). Tom Delay ring any bells?
You obviously forgot Gerry Falwall (a close Bush spiritual adviser) for his stupid hateful remarks that blamed feminists, gays and lesbians for bringing on the terrorist attacks in New York.

They say he talks too NUANCED for people to understand. (Yea, like we can't think and chew gum). Well I'm here to tell you we can do both, we can also understand when someone talks in a conversation setting, when they put two words together that are each longer then four letters, when they aren't yelling at us or telling us lies about their opponent. When they don't attack their opponent and say they are unpatriotic or treasonous. YES WE CAN! Oh, and just so you know here is Webster's definition of nuanced: sensibility to, awareness of, or ability to express delicate shadings (as of meaning, feeling, or value). I think that says it all, end of subject. * - - - - - * I'm trying to figure out my dog Jada. She can be out sleeping on the picnic table on the deck or sleeping in my chase lounge here in the front room. If I decide to go down stairs or into the kitchen she comes running and plops at the top of the stairs or at the kitchen door to see what I'm up to. Did you watch The Saddleback Civil Forum this past Saturday night? I did and I found it quite interesting. I felt that Barack had a conversation with the host and audience while McCain pretty much gave his stump speech. I know that's not how many of the talking heads saw it but they have been so wrong for so long their just laughable and stupid. One thing that I learned late last night on CNN during an interview they did with Rick Warren was that for at least the first 30 minutes of the show while Obama was answering questions McCain was NOT in a sound proof room off stage but in fact he was out side still driving to get to the meeting. Warren claims that both sides knew the rules that they would not have access to the questions in advanced and that he trusted that McCain had abided by those rules. I'll let you be the judge. * - - - - - * Hey kids stay in school and learn to read. This past Saturday I was at Office Depot do my recycle thing and decided I needed a new Laser printer. I looked around and decided to buy a small foot print Brother mono printer for $150. Got it home, hooked it up and am now using it and life is good. Now for the rest of the story and why you need to stay in school and learn to read. Sunday morning my local Kitsap Sun is a very big news paper with tons and tons of ads. I enjoy having my morning coffee at the kitchen table and going through all these ads just to see what I don't need. But on this day the printer that I just bought the day before at Office Depot for $150 was on sale for $99 at Best Buy. It seemed to me that I should get a refund of $50 bucks and so I looked for the Office Depot ad and sure enough they say if you find a lower price in 7 days they will refund the difference. Later Sunday morning I took the ads and my receipt to Office Depot and without a hick up they gave me a $50 refund. That's why it pays to read. * - - - - - * I've now recycled 5 PC Monitors and One small TV. Office Depot has a recycle program where you bring in your old equipment and depending on the size of the monitor they will box them up and ship them off. The cost is $15 for the big boys and $10 for the others. For all of my old monitors and TV it cost me $75 bucks. For me this is a good deal because to go out to the County run recycle yard I'd need to drive about 40 miles round trip and since I took two trips that would have been 8o miles. Plus the County charges a flat $25 bucks for each monitor or TV so I saved $50 bucks. House cleaning is a lot of hard work. * - - - - - * DAMN it's been hot these past 3 days. I'm ready for some rain. * - - - - - *

At first she was going to get it repaired but because of it's age she decided to buy a new Honda. She gave her old car to me, and so it has been sitting in my yard for over two year. At some point my neighbor's son who had the same year and model car was in a wreck (no injuries) and smashed his car up. I wasn't doing anything with my car so I told my neighbor he could have that car. And so it set. Well yesterday I talked to my neighbor and asked if I could have the car back (it was still in my yard). He said sure and infact I could have the engine from his sons car. What a deal. Now I need to find a shop that will put it all back together again. I feel so sad for Elizabeth Edwards. I'm watching this debate that the republicans are having with themselves on energy. This morning on C-SPAN the guest was Newt Gingrich. He of course is like John McSAME having been in the congress for a long time and was even the speaker from 1995 to 1999. It would seem he has suddenly had an epiphany on the solution to the energy problem in the U.S. He talks like he's an Oil and Gas expert. I've heard the question about the oil companies not using the land they currently lease and his answer was that it's HARD TO FIND OIL. Which begs the question if is hard to find oil why having more land changes anything. There are other questions that are not addressed in all this BULLSHIT TALK that they don't want to talk about and that is: Ships to haul this oil. Rigs available for off-shore drilling. Refineries to process this oil. The time it takes to find and process any oil. We need EXPERT ANSWERS to these and other questions and not the CRAP that the republicans are dumping on America. * - - - - - * Another thing that I hear on C-SPAN during their call-in segments are from "SO CALLED" democrats (I say so called because how do you prove a caller is indeed from one party or the other). Be that as it may. . . these so called dem callers say that they are not voting for Obama but will vote for McSAME. This Post is late today because I couldn't log on to my Blog. My internet connection was working just fine, I could do everything on the WEB except to logo on to edit my Blog. I still don't know why. This Republican talking point that drilling for oil offshore will lower gas prices is a BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. In reality, plans to drill for oil offshore will have no impact on the price of gas. There is not enough oil there, at least according to the estimates of the Energy Information Agency, to have any noticeable impact on the price of oil. Polls have shown that the public supports offshore drilling, presumably because they believe that it will lower the price of gas. Since the public is obviously misinformed about the potential impact of offshore drilling on gas prices, the responsibility of media outlets to provide correct information, by informing the public that drilling is not expected to have any measurable impact on oil prices even decades in the future when production is maximized.
