* *Who are these people that keep calling for and end to the democratic primary process? Last I checked this process runs from January 2008 until June 2008. So IT AIN'T OVER TIL IT'S OVER or THE FAT LADY SINGS.
How come there isn't a TV Channel or at the very least a program that is slanted toward the dems. You look at FOX and they have the whole Network working for the republicans.
I see that Harold Ford, Jr. has switched to MSNBC from FOX NOISE. I'm still unhappy with him for going on FOX in the first place. They are not his friend and until they stop their BULLSHIT style it doesn't make sense to have anything to do with them.THE MORE THINGS CHANGE THE MORE THEY REMAIN THE SAME
I saw this on Bill Moyers last Friday. I say it all in the title. I'm just not sure that in forty years we've come that far when so much is made of a few sound bites that are really edited from several speeches and put in a continues loop and played over and over.
Watch this short video. * *THEY CALL HIM MR MAYOR
I think the BEST show on all of TV is Bill Moyers on PBS. Week after week he has guests on that provide a conversation that is open, honest, interesting and thoughtful.
This past Friday he had Cory Booker a young man who is the Mayor of Newark, NJ. He seems to have the same qualities that Barack Obama has. He's part of the new generation of Americans that are ready, willing and VERY ABLE to except that torch that has been passed. This is a five part series. Kick back and enjoy the conversation. * *Okay, here are the answers to yesterdays quiz.

DON'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU READ
The other day I received the below email from a friend. . .
* * * * * * * * * Start of email: * * * * * * * * * Didn't know this did you? If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently broadcasted on FOX TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists. Please pass this along to everyone possible! * * * * * * * * * end email * * * * * * * * * When I got this email I was skeptical for several reasons. First I've never heard of doing this. Second I thought Oh geeze, IF I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS SECRET CODE WHAT'S THE VALUE? HOW WOULD I KNOW TO UES IT. Third and finally (maybe most importantly) it's source was "FOX NOISE". I'm just saying. . . Anyway I decided to check with my Credit Union to get some expert opinion regardless of how stupid it might make me look. So I sent them the above email and asked "Can you tell me if this is true or not?" Here is their reply: Mick you dumb STUPID S**T ( I added that part) Thank you for your email. Entering your pin number backwards will not summon the police to the ATM that you are currently using. If your pin number is not entered correctly, money will not be disbursed from the machine. As I said I knew the answer before I asked the question, it's one of those "If it sounds to good to be true it probably is" kind of deals.WEEKEND FUNNIES

It's hard to believe but maybe it isn't. The other day on FOX NOISE one of their pendants reused that old BULLSHIT LIE about how Al Gore said he invented the Internet.
Here once again is what he really said in his interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system." That's what he said, that's all he said. It then was reported by the Wire Service as ". . . After Gore took credit for the Internet. . ." note - first use found so far of "invent" wording is in a mailing-list message headline composed by Declan McCullagh, publicizing a Republican press release from the story: House Majority Leader Armey on Gore "inventing the Internet" The morale of this story I guess is if you want to be on FOX NOISE you need to be a BIG ASS LIER.BUSHED

I'm putting together this email about how I see things regarding this Rev. Wright CRAP. It just pisses me off that journalist can't seem to provide some BALANCE on this issue. I wonder how many people know any of these facts about the Rev. Wright.
I keep hearing that the "BLUE COLLER" worker wants to know this stuff. Well if that is true I'm pretty sure in today's world most have a computer and connection to the internet and as I say below it only took me a couple of minutes to find out some info that I didn't know about this issue. You LAZY ASS JOURNALIST and PUNDITS make your BLOOD MONEY the easiest way possible. You get on a story that has been carefully created together out of 9 or 10 twenty second sound bites and suggest that represents the life work of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. You give NO BACKGROUND, NO CONTEXT just the endless loop of these half dozen or so clips. One would think that in a 24/7 News day you could find a few minutes to provide this background/context. Well silly me I'm thinking about what honest hardworking people do not you LAZY JOURNALIST. Here is just a little information that you couldn't seem to find or missed. See below for full explanation of the three points. 1.) Rev. Wright's Education, military service, and achievements: Well it took all of about 2-3 minutes for me to load my Browser and key in Wrights name and push enter. How hard was that? You should try it yourself. One thing I learned from my search is that this is not a dumb guy and he did serve in the Marines and the Navy. Wonder if Dick Cheney ever served? 2.) Career as minister: When Rev. Wright became pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ there were only 87 members. Today I've heard that number is around 8,000. Wright has received three presidential commendations from President Lyndon B. Johnson and was named one of Ebony magazine's top fifteen preachers. 3.) Relationship with Barack Obama: Barack Obama first met Wright and joined his church in the 1980s. If he's been running for president since the 1980s he's got a much better vision for the future than most don't you think?Wright then enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he received a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master's degree in English in 1969. He served on the Board of Directors for the Malcolm X School of Nursing from 1974 until 1979[5]. He also earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School. [5]Wright holds a Doctor of Ministry degree (1990) from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he studied under Samuel DeWitt Proctor. How hard was that? Well it took me all of about 2-3 minutes for me to load my Browser and key in Wrights name and push enter. You should try it yourself.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
1.) Rev. Wright's Education, military service, and achievements:
From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University,[1] an historically black school in Richmond. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the 2nd Marine Division with the rank of private first class. He subsequently transferred to the United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian in 1963[5]. He was trained as cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated as salutatorian in 1967[5].2.) Career as minister:
Wright became pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ on March 1, 1972, at a time when its membership was only 87 members. [1] Wright has received a Rockefeller Fellowship, and has also been a professor at Chicago Theological Seminary, Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and other educational institutions. Wright has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Black Theology Project, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Virginia Union University and of the City Colleges of Chicago. Wright has received seven honorary doctorate degrees, including from Colgate University, Valparaiso University, United Theological Seminary and Chicago Theological Seminary. [5] Wright, who began the "Ministers in Training" ("M.I.T.") program at Trinity United Church of Christ, has been a national leader in promoting theological education and the preparation of seminarians for the African-American church.[6] Wright has received three presidential commendations from President Lyndon B. Johnson[5] and was named one of Ebony magazine's top fifteen preachers.[7]3.) Relationship with Barack Obama:
Barack Obama, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president, first met Wright and joined his church in the 1980s, while he was working as a community organizer in Chicago before attending Harvard Law School.[8] Obama and his wife, Michelle, were later married by Wright, and both their children were baptized by him.[9] The title of Obama's memoir, The Audacity of Hope, was inspired by one of Wright's sermons[8] and he credits Wright with strengthening his faith.[9] The public invocation before Obama's presidential announcement was scheduled to be given by Wright, but Obama withdrew the invitation the night before the event.[10] Wright wrote a rebuttal letter to the editor disputing the characterization of the account as reported in the New York Times article.[11] In late 2007, Wright was appointed to Barack Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee, a group of over 170 national black religious leaders who supported Obama's bid for the Democratic nomination;[12] however, it was announced in March 2008 that Wright was no longer serving as a member of this group.[13]

I watched CNN'S Reliable Sources yesterday and they did a segment on the Rev Wright dustup. Did you see a Sunday show that didn't do at least one segment on this. I sure didn't.
I was so impressed with one guest Eric Deggans that I sent him an email to tell him what a great job he did on the show. See below. What I don't get is that these SO CALLED JOURNALISTS don't even seem to do BASIC let alone investigative reporting. It would have only taken about $9.95 for them to buy the CD and listen to the full speech. My god that might mean they where doing there job. By the way when you can see that a 4 minute video clip has been put together by using 11 different sermons don't you think that that is just WAY TOMUCH CREATIVE EDITING. Here is Mr. Deggans web site: Click to visit his site.
Hi Mr. Deggans,
I saw you on Reliable Sources this morning and I was so impressed with your response to all this "CRAP" (excuse my French) about what Rev. Jeremiah Wright said in his church. Honestly, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm a 71 year old white guy that supports Barack Obama. I'm retired but I manage to send his campaign $25 per month, so it's not just talk for me. I thought that back a year or so ago we would see an honest discussion about race in America when Don Imus made his stupid remarks about that woman's basketball team. I saw a number of new faces on TV that I thought would add a new and different perspective to this issue. It didn't happen. Cable TV can follow a car chase in southern California for several hours without breaking for a commercial. On this issue it's over in about 8 minutes and then we are off to see what Paris Hilton or Britney Spears are up to. Today for the FIRST TIME on TV you where able to bring a little background and context to this discussion. It's funny because on my blog (www.thebscorner.com) just this morning my post was on this very "CHICKEN COMING HOME TO ROOST" comment that I saw on The Huffington Post. It provides a YouTube video that is about 17 minutes long that gives that context you talked about. Just this morning I saw another YouTube video that is 4:14 minutes long that puts this clips together. I counted what Rev. Wright was wearing and there was 11 changes of clothes, remember the total video was 4:14 minutes long. So every 23 seconds on average is the time they used his words from different speeches. There were also some seven obvious splices so it's impossible to know what kind of "CREATIVE EDITING" was done. I fully understand the agenda of the right wing nut jobs, but don't get why the Main Stream Media don't provide just a little context to this kind of stuff. It's not like the video wasn't available. I guess it's just to much work when they have a sound bite they can use. This is the first time I've seen you on TV and hope they will use you more. It's important to hear the truth and to see someone stand up to these lies. Sincerely, Mick Horan Bremerton, Wa. * *ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION
Also on that Reliable Sources program they had right-wing tool Michael Medved on and Howard Kurtz asked him a very specific question which was. "Why didn't the journalists seek to do any investigative reporting."
So what does Medved do he says "That's a complicated question" Is he nuts? What's complicated about that question? They simply didn't do their job. Then he says "Obama is trying to change the subject." Did he even listen to the Obama speech? Doesn't sound like it. So why can't he just answer the damn question? * *FRONTLINE
Tonigh and Tuesday you need to watch FRONTLINE on PBS.
From the horror of 9/11 to the invasion of Iraq; the truth about WMD to the rise of an insurgency; the scandal of Abu Ghraib to the strategy of the surge -- for six years, FRONTLINE has revealed the defining stories of the war on terror in meticulous detail, and the political dramas that played out at the highest levels of power and influence. * *BUSHED

NOT THIS TIME
That's the short 8 second sound bite that was played over and over the past week or so. The right wing loves to do this kind of CRAP because they know that they can get away with it. Who's going to check?
Well this EASTER I think it's an appropriate day to fight back. . . to tell the truth. . . to tell the FULL story. Spend about 15 minutes to watch the below video, you'll change your mind. They are not going to get away with it. . . NOT THIS TIME.Just saw this on Huffpost and thought I should share. I have now watched Wright's sermon in context and I must say I have been struck with a little shame. Like an avid Obama Supporter I defended Obama against the 8 seconds sound bytes that were played endlessly but inside I was hurt by Wright's comments and chalked it up to the 'Crazy Uncle' explanation. At the very end, he preaches about self-examination and I guess I, along with most of America, have a lot of examining to do.
This is some real Journalistic Work by Sam Stein over at Huffpost. All the credit for this story is his. I am merely passing it on.AMERICA'S CHICKENS COMING HOME TO ROOST
Meet the man who inspired Reverend Jeremiah Wright's now famous tirade about America's foreign policy inciting the terrorist attacks of September 11.
His name is Ambassador Edward Peck. And he is a retired, white, career U.S. diplomat who served 32-years in the U.S. Foreign Service and was chief of the U.S. mission to Iraq under Jimmy Carter -- hardly the black-rage image with which Wright has been stigmatized. In fact, when Wright took the pulpit to give his post-9/11 address -- which has since become boiled down to a five second sound bite about "America's chickens coming home to roost" -- he prefaced his remarks as a "faith footnote," an indication that he was deviating from his sermon. "I heard Ambassador Peck on an interview yesterday," Wright declared. "He was on Fox News. This is a white man and he was upsetting the Fox News commentators to no end. He pointed out, a white man, an ambassador, that what Malcolm X said when he got silenced by Elijah Muhammad was in fact true: America's chickens are coming home to roost." Wright then went on to list more than a few U.S. foreign policy endeavors that, by the tone of his voice and manner of his expression, he viewed as more or less deplorable. This included, as has been demonstrated in the endless loop of clips from his sermon, bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki and nuking "far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye." "Violence begets violence," Wright said, "hatred begets hatred, and terrorism begets terrorism." And then he concluded by putting the comments on Peck's shoulders: "A white ambassador said that yall, not a black militant, not a reverend who preaches about racism, an ambassador whose eyes are wide open and is trying to get us to wake up and move away from this dangerous precipice... the ambassador said that the people we have wounded don't have the military capability we have, but they do have individuals who are willing to die and take thousands with them... let me stop my faith footnote right there."
WHAT YOU DIDN'T HEAR - WATCH THE VIDEO IN CONTEX
* *AMBASSADOR EDWARD PECK
So it seems that while Wright did believe American held some responsibility for 9/11, his views, which have been described as radically outside the political mainstream, were actually influenced by a career foreign policy official.
Who is Peck? The ambassador, who has offered controversial criticism of Israeli policy in the West Bank but also warned against the Iraq War, was lecturing on a cruise ship and was unavailable for comment. But officials at Peck's former organization, the Council for the National Interest, a non-profit group that advocates reducing Israel's influence on U.S. Middle East policy, offered descriptions of the man. "Peck is very outspoken," said Eugene Bird, who now heads CNI. "He is also very good at making phrases that have a resonance with the American people. When he came off of that Fox News, a few days later he said they would never invite me back again." And what, exactly, did Peck say in that Fox News interview that inspired Wright's words? Here are some quotes from an appearance the Ambassador made on the network on October 11, 2001, which may or may not have been the segment Wright was referring to. On the show, Peck said he thought it was illogical to tie Saddam Hussein to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and that while the then-Iraqi leader had "some very sound and logical reasons not to like [the United States]," he and Osama bin Laden had no other ties. From there, Peck went on to ascribe motives for what prompted the 9/11 attacks. "Stopping the economic embargo and bombings of Iraq," he said, "things to which Osama bin Laden has alluded as the kinds of things he doesn't like. He doesn't think it's appropriate for the United States to be doing, from his perspective, all the terrible things that he sees us as having been doing, the same way Saddam Hussein feels. So from that perspective, they have a commonality of interests. But they also have a deeply divergent view of the role of Islam in government, which would be a problem."

THE KISS
He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire. When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from the Charlotte , North Carolina newspaper, noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman.
He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph. And some people say animals are dumb.GREAT QUOTES:

Of course I can't fully understand what it's like to be black in America but just as I don't need to put my hand on a red hot stove top burner to know it's hot I have a brain and I can reason and imagine what it is like and know what is right and what is wrong.
For example when I see a sign in front of a store that says "N****RS AND APES IN BACK" as I did in the ESPN documentary BLACKMAGIC the other night. It's not rocket science to know and understand the meaning of that sign. Nor is hard to understand how that one small example can hurt someone especially a young child. This kind of CRAP has gone on for years that is undeniable. Yes it's true that we as a country have move forward which is a good thing but do you really think it's where we should be some 200 years later? We have much more work to do and that was one of the underlying themes of Barack Obama's speech the other night. So now it comes to Jon Stewart to bring some perspective to this issue. When you listen to these two clips you'll see that Stewart is dead on. To be continued.JON STEWART - Regarding the Obama speech on Race
Barack Obama addresses race after the hubbub over his pastor and makes history on a Tuesday.

On the fifth anniversary of President George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq, President Bush said he has no doubts about waging the unpopular war despite the "high cost in lives and treasure."
Vice President Dick Cheney had a different message. Informed during a Good Morning America interview broadcast Wednesday that two-thirds of Americans now think the war was not worth fighting, Cheney said: "So?" "So you don't care what the American people think?" ABC's Martha Raddatz asked. It sure isn't Dicky Boy. Listen to his short and oh so sweet "SO" answer. * *FRONTLINE
Next Monday and Tuesday you need to watch FRONTLINE on PBS.
Now, on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq invasion, the full saga unfolds in the two-part FRONTLINE special Bush's War, airing Monday, March 24, from 9 to 11:30 P.M. and Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from 9 to 11 P.M. ET on PBS (check local listings). Veteran producer Michael Kirk (The Torture Question, The Dark Side) draws on one of the richest archives in broadcast journalism -- more than 40 FRONTLINE reports on the war on terror. Combined with fresh reporting and new interviews, Bush's War will be the definitive documentary analysis of one of the most challenging periods in the nation's history.ONE LAST TIME
I'm saying this one last time. Think about it.
I've seen about 5 or 6 minutes total of Jeremiah Wrights sermons on TV. One of the right wings rants is that Barack spent 20 years in that church. Well I did a little math: 20 yrs X 365 days = 7300 days X 24 hrs = 175200 hrs X 60 min = 10,512,000 total mins. Vs 6 mins of TV video. That does not seem to me to be that much out of balance when you consider we have all said and done things that maybe we are not that proud of.BUSHED

Bush Says Iraq War Was Worth It. There might be almost 4000 dead soldiers, 700,000 dead Iraqis and more than 60,000 wounded that would take exception to that. "I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed." "It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said. * *BREAKING NEWS: Part 3 of
BARACK OBAMA delivers major speech on race. March 18: Democratic Sen. Barack Obama delivers the most racially pointed speech yet of his presidential campaign.
*
*
Did you watch Barack Obama's speech on race today? To me it was equal to Martin Luther Kings "I HAVE A DREAM" speech. At times I cried. I cried because at my age I might not be around to see him complete his second term. I might not be around to see the changes he talks about. I so want him to be the next president of the United States of America. I want to once again have that feeling we all had so many years ago in the early sixties.
We have all seen the video loop of Rev Wrights comments over and over and over again. The right wing is quick to make the point that well Obama has been a member of that church for over 20 years yet we have seen only about 6 minutes of video. So I thought maybe it's time to add some context to what we have seen on TV. As I've said I've seen about 5 or 6 minutes total of Jeremiah Wrights sermons on TV. Well lets just do a little math: 20 yrs X 365 days = 7300 days X 24 hrs = 175200 hrs X 60 min = 10,512,000 total mins. Vs 6 mins of TV video. That does not seem to me to be that much out of balance when you consider we have all said and done things that maybe we are not that proud of. After I watched his speech I was very impressed and had a happy feeling inside. I remember back last year when IMUS said what he said and I thought at that time that maybe, just maybe we could now start that dialog. It didn't happen then and I wonder if it will happen now. I'm not so sure. The folks on the right just can't find anything that Obama said that was good. They wanted him to throw Rev Wright under the bus.To be continued. * *Throughout the first year of this campaign, against all predictions to the contrary, we saw how hungry the American people were for this message of unity. Despite the temptation to view my candidacy through a purely racial lens, we won commanding victories in states with some of the whitest populations in the country. In South Carolina, where the Confederate Flag still flies, we built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white Americans.
This is not to say that race has not been an issue in the campaign. At various stages in the campaign, some commentators have deemed me either "too black" or "not black enough." We saw racial tensions bubble to the surface during the week before the South Carolina primary. The press has scoured every exit poll for the latest evidence of racial polarization, not just in terms of white and black, but black and brown as well. And yet, it has only been in the last couple of weeks that the discussion of race in this campaign has taken a particularly divisive turn. On one end of the spectrum, we've heard the implication that my candidacy is somehow an exercise in affirmative action; that it's based solely on the desire of wide-eyed liberals to purchase racial reconciliation on the cheap. On the other end, we've heard my former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, use incendiary language to express views that have the potential not only to widen the racial divide, but views that denigrate both the greatness and the goodness of our nation; that rightly offend white and black alike. I have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely - just as I'm sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed. But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren't simply controversial. They weren't simply a religious leader's effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country - a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America; a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam. As such, Reverend Wright's comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems - two wars, a terrorist threat, a falling economy, a chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change; problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all. Given my background, my politics, and my professed values and ideals, there will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Reverend Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church? And I confess that if all that I knew of Reverend Wright were the snippets of those sermons that have run in an endless loop on the television and You Tube, or if Trinity United Church of Christ conformed to the caricatures being peddled by some commentators, there is no doubt that I would react in much the same way But the truth is, that isn't all that I know of the man. The man I met more than twenty years ago is a man who helped introduce me to my Christian faith, a man who spoke to me about our obligations to love one another; to care for the sick and lift up the poor. He is a man who served his country as a U.S. Marine; who has studied and lectured at some of the finest universities and seminaries in the country, and who for over thirty years led a church that serves the community by doing God's work here on Earth - by housing the homeless, ministering to the needy, providing day care services and scholarships and prison ministries, and reaching out to those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
