In part 5 of BUYING THE WAR we see that a small group of reporters started looking closer at what was going on. They took a closer look at Achmed Chalabi.
Ahmed Chalabi is the man whose information provided the justification for the American invasion of Iraq. But it now seems that he is at best a very shady character and at worst, a double agent, working for the government of Iran. . .
WHY DO THEY LIE - ANN COULTER
Man where to begin, I guess at the beginning.
For the last couple of days I've heard the talk back and forth about the Edwards vs. Coulter slap-down. I've heard more lies than I can take. The relational for some of this HATE TALK is breathtaking to say the least.
The RIGHT WING has it's talking points out and in place. For example yesterday I received a message from a reader of this Blog that said I wasn't telling the full story. I assume he was referring to my Post yesterday.
He said that Edwards was making money off her. To which I say DUH!!!
Bill O'Reilley came to that same conclusion last night on his O-FACTOR Show. Click here to watch. Man what a crack analysis.
They seem to think it's OK for Coulter to make money with her Lying/Hate Talk and Hurtful speech but Edwards should just shut up and take it. He saw what the RIGHTIES can do with their Swift Boating and they said enough is enough.
I sent them $25.00 I was so proud of them for standing their ground. They did it to FOX NOISE too by saying "HELL NO I WON'T GO" to your cheap ass debate. I just might vote for him.
OK back to my point and that is SHE'S A LIAR and if you can't see that well I can't help you. Let's start here with the phone call from Elizabeth Edwards on Hardball.
Right off the bat she tries to lie her way out of having said anything about John. . . Ann said: "I didn't say anything about him either times" and later she said "Your asking me to stop speaking" she attacks him for being a lawyer and finally for charging a poverty group $50,000 for a speech, which is just another lie. She just can't open her mouth without lying. Hard to believe the girl has no shame. In this next clip she was on Bill O'Reilly last night and right out of the box they used her Good Morning America appearance where once again it has her lying about what Bill Maher said. In this interview she said "BILL MAHER WAS NOT JOKING". Her explanation of what a SYLLOGISM is. . . is way off the mark as well because her Major premise is flat out wrong.
Even other people help ANN COULTER promote her lies by LYING THEM SELVES. Take this example from Joe Scarborough. To me this is really, really sad because Joe Scarborough was a guest on that Bill Maher Show the night that Bill supposedly said what Ann Coulter claimed he said. So Joe of all people should know the truth. But just listen to what GOOD OLD MORNING JOE said just yesterday on MSNBC.
Listen to what Joe is saying in his "HOLIER THAN THOU" tone. But he in many ways is the BIGGER LIAR because he was there. What a DUMB ASS he is. So now it comes down to this, what EXACTLY did Bill Maher say? Well after you watch this video you'll know the truth he DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING he was quoting from a comment that someone else had entered in the Huffington Post.
This has nothing to do with the Ann Coulter crap above but I think it gives you a small window into the which you can see how the FOX NOISE MACHINE works.
O'Reilly claims that Mike Moore was dodging his show while at the same time showed up 90 minutes late for The Jon Daily Show. How awful is that. . . But the BIG O-MAN as is his style left a couple of details out.

Today in part 4 of our series BUYING THE WAR we learn that some journalists couldn't make sense out of what was going on with this march to war. You just have to wonder why these guys didn't believe the administration line while so many others did. I'm sure we'll find the answer as we move forward. I sent two emails to MSNBC yesterday. One to Chris Matthews here and one to Tucker Carlson below. In the case of Chris I wondered why he gave Ann Coulter an hour long platflorm to get her HATE out. I think she has enough ways to do that as it is. Chris Matthews, To give Ann Coulter a platform to spread her hate is beyond my understanding. I watch MSNBC because I expect a bit more from the Talk Shows. If I wanted to listen to CRAP I'd switch to FOX. It's not a question of protecting freedom of speech she has lots of ways to get her HATE out there with FOX, her books, and Talk radio which as far as I can tell is 80 to 90 percent Right Wing. Jon Stewart said it best when he went on CNN's Crossfire and said "Stop, stop, stop, stop hurting America". To me that is just what folks like Ann Coulter and FOX are doing with their RIGHT WING agenda. Stewart might need to show up on HARDBALL after yesterdays show. Not all shows on the right are as hurtful/hateful as Coulter and FOX. But it seems to me anyone that has watched FOX for just a few days would know the agenda that they promote. MSNBC at least has a cross section of views and most are not HATEFUL and HURTFUL as the Coulter and FOX team. I'm tired of hearing that I don't support the troops because I want them to come home. I'm tired of hearing that I hate America when I disagree with a policy of the U.S. I want what's best for America and HATE TALK ISN'T THE ANSWER. I would hope that you would think twice before you bring someone like Coulter on to spread her vile talk. You need to raise the bar a little.

Hey Tucker, You lost the debate with Ed Schultz plus you need to tone it down your shouting way to much. Now take a deep breath you need to start telling the truth or if you don't know the truth you shouldn't just make crap up or repeat things that you have heard. What I'm talking about is today in TRYING to justify what Ann Coulter said yesterday on Good Morning America you said this: "The point that she's making is that Bill Maher says this outrageous thing that he wishes the Vice President was killed in a terrorist attack" Bill Maher said NO SUCH THING. to see the actual video of that show, with context. He was talking about a "COMMENT" that someone else had posted on The Huffington Post. You just need to get your facts straight and stop the lying. The other thing I'd like to point out is even if Bill Maher had said it just like you want folks to believe he did that doesn't justify in any way Ann Coulter using that as a crutch. Following that logic your kids should be able to call other kids names just because a neighbor kid does. Is that how you are raising your kids?

NOTHING TO COUNT TODAY. Paris is free. The neocons take control. They saw the attack on the World Trade Center as an opportunity to attack Iraq and Saddam Hussein. How could they be so wrong. Today we watch part 3 of our series on BUYING THE WAR. Elizabeth Edwards phoned into "Hardball". today and called Ann Coulter out. Part of the conversation revolved around Coulter's slander of Edwards on ABC as well as other remarks. It was clear she was stunned by the call when Matthews announced who was on the line. But as Edwards laid out her case, Coulter immediately started flipping her hair and stuttering. The point was that the personal, negative attacks by Coulter are hurting politics and aren't good for this country. Ann Coulter is a load mouth!!! But she sure as hell can sell a book to the right wing whacko's that follow her and believe her every word. The sad thing is they agree with her potty mouth and think that by listening to her they are having a real honest discussion. What BULLSHIT. I came away knowing that in her twisted little mind Ann thinks she won that discussion but in the end you'll see she had to fall back on her OLD well USED tools of JUST MORE HATE. How sad. A couple of weeks ago I got a letter in the mail with a big red and white sign on it saying "IMPORTANT Installed Dishwasher SAFETY NOTICE Enclosed". It looked very official and important so I left it on my kitchen table thinking I would open it a little later. Well it's been about three weeks since then and today I decided maybe I need to see what is so important, so I opened and read it. It turns out my dishwasher is being recalled and I shouldn't use it. Hey Mick might be a good idea to open mail that is marked "IMPORTANT" right away don't you think. I checked the model and serial number on my machine and it was one that was being recalled. I have two options Sears will fix it for free or give me a $150.00 rebate. The down side of the rebate is that I need to first buy the new dishwasher and then turn in all the paperwork to get the $150.00 rebate. I've talked about rebates before because I hate them most of the time. Costco does the best job by at least allowing you to do it online. I think the best way to use a rebate is RIGHT NOW AT THE CHECKOUT STAND, but they won't do that because they know that many people won't submit the paperwork once they get home which means the company doesn't have to pay. Since my dishwasher is about 7-8 years old I decided I'd take the $150.00 rebate option. So today I went down to Sears to check out the dishwashers. What a sock they start at about $270 for the plain-jane model all the way up to around $1200 for the one I want (just kidding). I'd say to replace my current dishwasher with one in the same price range is going to cost me about $350.00 plus installation, maybe another $100.00. So I'd say about $450 total. So it looks like I'm going to fork out about $300 bucks. I wonder if this is just a scam to get people to replace their older systems with new ones. NAW they wouldn't do that . . . would they??? iPhone is coming. Do you have the $1200 to $1800 per year plus tax and fees to get one. Maybe a better way to say it is do you want to pay the $1200 to $1800 dollars per year for one.

In part 2 of BUYING THE WAR you see the immediate aftermath of the attack on 9/11. We all felt the hurt and pain. President Bush said the right thing in Ground Zero. We all held each others hands all across America.
Then things started to change slowly at first. I remember Bill Maher and the Dixie Chicks being ostracized for comments they had made. As this video ends you hear the first efforts to put on some controls on the effort to control what we Americans should see and hear as it regards the war.
The other day I was reading a story on a Blog that I check out everyday. In this story they provided a link to some other site if I wanted more information. Well I did want some more info so I clicked on the link and the first thing it wanted me to do was open an account so I did. They only needed a user name, password and email address. This is what happened. Hi, Today (as far as I know) I tried to open an account with digg. I entered my user name (*****), a password (*******) and my email address and got back the following message: This Account is Disabled Your account has been disabled due to misuse. Like I said this was the first time I've tried to use digg so I don't understand why I'm getting this message. It's pretty hard to misuse an account that you haven't yet used (I think that's still true). Can you figure out what's going on? This is the start of a very long series that I saw on PBS the other night. It's title is "BUYING THE WAR". It's the story of how the media basically caved into to the Bush administration before the start of the IRAQ war.
This is a 17 part series about 5 minutes each. I'm sure you may know much of what is presented here but I think it ties it all together in a very understandable way. It may even give you some information that you didn't know. It did me.
Fox News Sunday held a round table discussion this morning regarding Dick Cheney's assertion
that he is not part of the executive branch and should thus not be subject to an executive order concerning the handling of classified information by executive offices. Host Chris Wallace wondered why the Vice President would have decided to stop complying with the executive order in 2003, since he had complied with it prior to then, and former Vice President Al Gore also complied with it. Conservative pundit Bill Kristol replied that the measure was a "pain in the neck" for the executive staff and argued that there is no reason for archivists from the National Archives to "come investigate the security procedures of the Vice President's office." "Maybe they have a reason because he stopped complying with the law," shot back panel member Juan Williams. "There's no law," insisted Kristol. "Yes. There's an executive order," said Williams. "What you have is, not only is it that there is classified documents, we don't know where they go, what happens to them, emails disappear in this White House, and you say, 'Well, what happened to the emails?' 'Oh no, we have a private account.' This is all a dodge, this is a game in order to keep Dick Cheney in, I guess, some sort of secured undisclosed bunker of his mind." CNN conducted a survey this past week seeking information on each House members "EARMARKS". Only 45 members provided their requests. 6 said they had not requested any. 68 flat out refused. The rest did not respond. As far as I know the CNN interns that made the phone calls are all U. S. citizens and I feel are entitled to know where their TAX DOLLARS are being spent regardless of weather or not they live in that district. I was more than disappointed when I checked out the response from members from Washington State. Four said NO. Four didn't have the courtesy of even providing a response. ONLY Adam Smith (D) of the 9th district had the guts to provide his list. REP. NANCY PELOSI, (D) HOUSE SPEAKER said "If I just might direct the record to another place, why don't we just leave this room today forgetting the word EARMARK? This is LEGISLATIVELY DIRECTED SPENDING as opposed to executive spending." Yea I'll bet she want's to forget the word EARMARK. To me this WORDSMITHING is just more of the same crap the republicans like to do. For example the words ESTATE TAX is now DEATH TAX to make it sound bad. Nancy has taken a page out of their play book with this same kind of "wordsmithing" nonsense. With the current LOW approval ratings of congress I don't think any member should feel secure in his/her position. You know and I know that the American people are disenchanted with politicians. You TALK about OPENNESS and TRANSPARENCY but when it's time to put the rubber to the road where the hell are you. I believe there is a change taking place in the country. I know I'm rethinking my positions. I want someone that can not only say what they believe but follow that up with ACTION not BS. If you have some EARMARKS publish the damn list. Support your position, that is unless you have something to hide.
Don't ever take my vote for granted. I voted for you for a specific amount of time NOT FOR LIFE. Like a ball player you have to prove yourself every day not just because of yesterdays game. What I'm saying is that folks that feel secure in their position SHOULDN'T. The voters will Take Back Their Country. Now will you provide me with a list of your EARMARKS. He talks for about 45 seconds and say "SO NOW YOU'RE UP TO DATE ON IRAQ". He claims since ABC spent 15 seconds on Iraq, CBS spent 10 seconds and NBC spent a whopping 2 minutes.
He says that BAD NBC showed a FULL 2 MINUTES and asks the question "What kind of coverage are you really getting from outlets that show carnage without context." Just an aside, O'Reilly is the last person to talk about showing things OUT OF CONTEXT he does it on every one of his program.

Senate Democrats are seeking a major reversal of energy tax policies that would take billions of dollars in tax breaks and other benefits from the oil industry to underwrite renewable fuels. Energy and Power tax increases would reverse incentives passed as recently as three years ago to increase domestic exploration and production of oil and gas. The change reflects a shift from the Republican focus on expanding oil production to the Democratic concern about reducing global warming. On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee will take up a bill that would raise about $14 billion from oil companies over 10 years and would give about the same amount of money on new incentives for solar power, wind power, cellulosic ethanol and numerous other renewable energy sources. The bill is one of the signature issues this year for Democrats, along with immigration and the war in Iraq, and one in which they hope to clearly distinguish themselves from the Republicans. Why the hell the Oil Companies even received tax breaks and incentives is beyond me. These guys in congress will do anything for a buck. I've said before that I think we need a program like the one JFK started back 50 years ago to get a man on the moon. An agency dedicated to the task of developing NEW energy sources and get us off oil or increasing the gas mileage on cars and trucks by double it's current average. I mean they've had 30 years and haven't done a damn thing.

Like his wife Victory Toensing, Joe diGenova uses the same TALKING POINTS to try and make the case that POOR LIBBY didn't do anything wrong and BIG BAD Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald is picking on Libby. What a bunch of CRAP. Like his wife he continues to lie about Valerie Plame NOT being a covert CIA operative. So once again I give you this court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald. An unclassified summary of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame's employment history at the spy agency, disclosed for the first time today in a court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, indicates that Plame was "covert" when her name became public in July 2003. They will never change. They have made LYING AN ART FORM and will continue to do it because they know that most people won't take the time to do any FACT CHECKING. These liars know that and understand it. It's only politics and the truth doesn't matter.
Well in keeping with the above Post it's not only fitting but timely that Jon Stewart has something to say about lies and the lying liars that tell them (thanks to Al Franken for that). It seems that Tony Snow has taken a page from the Dick Cheney LYING LIARS PLAY BOOK.
I'm no lawyer and so I'm just wondering out load here. Can't the judge in this ridiculous PANTS lawsuit just throw this out the first minute of the first day and in addition award these poor Dry Cleaning operators $50 million in damage themselves. That would be justice.

Has there ever been a DUMDER question asked followed by an EVEN DUMBER answer than the one asked by Bill O'Reilly and answered by Carl Bernstein. By the way have you EVER heard someone that keeps trying to convince the rest of us that he's a REAL journist make a comment like the one O'Reilly made after Carl gave his first answer. I swear this was not only the DUMBEST interview I've ever seen. I've only used a very small part of it and maybe I'll put more of it up in a day or so. Maybe not. You can stand STUPID for only so long.
The other night I went to a meeting in my neighborhood called Neighborhood Watch. There were about 25-30 people in attendance. I think that's pretty good since there are 51 houses total. A Kitsap County Sheriff from the Community Resource Division was there to give us an overview of what the program is all about. COMMUNICATION: Communication among block members is the key to a successful Block Watch. Telephone trees help neighbors communicate about neighborhood activities and to share important information. COLLABORATION: Collaboration is another key to success. Collaboration means that we will work with each other in such a way that the scope of what we do together far exceeds the total of what we could do separately, Collaboration helps us to take the effectiveness of cooperation beyond normal expectations. PATIENCE: Patience is important. Problems are not easily solved. ln this space age society we often expect quick-fix solutions. Solutions to problems involving people are often not as readily apparent as they might be with a machine. Taking time to really explore the problems and to examine all parts of it is often very valuable. Your Block issues are unique to you and may require a unique solution. Take time to share your thinking about how to solve the problem. COMMITMENT: Commitment is the fourth key to success. Long-term commitment is critical to safety in our community. It took us a long time to create the environment in which gangs, violence, and drugs could prosper. It will take time to reach solutions that (l) will work and (2) through which we will make changes in conditions so that gangs, violence and drugs will not reappear in our midst. Your commitment to continue to function as part of the block watch organization effort can be one of your ways to participate in, and contribute to the success of the Crime Prevention Unit. The success of the Crime Prevention Unit depends upon each of us in the campaign.

CNN Suggests Rudy Led During 1993 Terror Attack -- Even Though He Wasn't Mayor At The Time Why do you suppose it is that these TV Networks, News Organizations, News Readers, Pundits and Talking Heads don't do a better job of Fact Checking? Here is a quick example. Today, CNN weighed in with a somewhat detailed report on Rudy's 9/11 performance. And it contains both good and bad. The bad first: It badly botches a key fact, wrongly suggesting that Rudy's experience includes dealing with not one, but two terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. From the report, here's CNN's John Roberts: ROBERTS: And in the GOP presidential race, Rudy Giuliani is the tough-talking candidate who says he'd be the best to lead that war. Why? Because he's been through it twice. During the 1993 and 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. Whoops! The World Trade Center was attacked for the first time in February of 1993. Rudy Giuliani became mayor nearly a year later, in January of 1994. To me that's a basic fact that is easily checked, yet they didn't do it. Yes, I know it's a small mistake but people around the country will be giving Rudy more credit then he is due.

6-7-2007 at 7:06 am BREAKING NEWS - - PARIS HILTON IS OUT OF JAIL ! ! ! The only thing we have to FEAR, is FEAR itself. - - FDR I was 5 or 6 when FDR spoke those words. Even though I was quite young I felt safe and I didn't worry. Sure Japan had pulled a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and yes over 2400 Americans were dead. But the government never pulled out the FEAR CARD every fifteen minutes. To be sure the attack on Pearl Harbor was used to promote an agenda but that agenda was to rally America behind the war NOT TO SCARE US as is the case today. Today we all want to feel safe and secure but we don't want or need this BULLSHIT that we have seen in these recent busts that just don't have a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding and yet we have this major press conference with all the stern faces talking as though they caught these guys in the eleventh hour. Like I say we do want the Homeland Security to do it's job without the hype. Listen to this series and make up your own mind. I think you'll agree with me that this type of announcement does just one thing it takes our eye off the ball and creates nothing but FEAR. What I worry about is that through the use of FEAR a larger agenda is put in place. Watch this series and I think you'll see the point.

Lewis "Scooter" Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Cheney, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $250,000 for lying to investigators about his role in leaking the identity of an undercover CIA officer. "Evidence in this case overwhelmingly indicated Mr. Libby's culpability," U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton said moments before he handed out the sentence. The judge said he was sentencing Libby "with a sense of sadness. I have the highest respect for people who take positions in our government and appreciate tremendously efforts they bring to bear to protect this country."

Today Judge Reggie Walton will sentence I. Lewis Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, to anywhere from probation to 25 years in federal prison for perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements to federal investigators. Almost certainly Libby will receive no more than three years behind bars, since that's all the prosecution has requested.
So it's from 0 to 3. Will he say he's sorry? If he does I'm betting 0.
I saw the following in the Letters to the Editor in this past Sundays Kitsap Sun. I don't know how many times I've seen this letter or simalur ones that keep saying this nonse over and over as though there is some GREAT MEDIA CONSPERCY. When you hear that 15 plus U. S. Toops where killed just since June 1st it's just to damn hard to see any of the good. This type of letter makes me get out my pen and do my own Letter to the Editor. Mine follows S. W.'s. In Sundays Sun it seems S. W. is unhappy with how things are going in Iraq. He claims no good news is being reported out of Iraq. First of all I'd suggest he start watching more FOX NOISE they don't seem to think there is anything worth reporting on in Iraq. To bad for FOX there isn't a Baghdad version of Anna Nicole Smith so they would have something to report. If your ok with torture there's nothing I can say that will change your mind. You need to talk to John McCain. Stewart doesn't get it especially when he uses the tag line of "manufacture a loss in Iraq". What is it that he doesn't understand about a CIVIL WAR. It's out of our hands. Are you just MAKING this stuff up, you don't really believe that the surge is working and that we've got al-Qaeda on the run do you? I don't know how to explain this to you but if your house burned to the ground telling your family that the good news is that the lawnmower you forgot to put in the garage is just fine. Doesn't seem to be that important in the bigger picture does it.
The federal investigation into a bribery scheme centering on one of Alaska's biggest oil services companies has crossed paths with Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK). And Stevens' problems seem to come down to some highly creative methods Stevens used to remodel his Alaska home. According to contractor Augie Paone, it all started when a group of unnamed "friends" got together to renovate the senator's house as a weekend project. The group of friends ended up being unable to pull it off. But in the group's defense, the job was pretty ambitious. The plan was to ratchet the one-story house off its foundation, build a new first floor and then place the old first floor on top of the new first floor. Unfortunately for the do-it-yourselfers, they ran into a few problems. That's when the local contractor, Paone, came into the picture. Paone has provided most of the sordid details in this story, since none of the other players are talking. According to Paone, it wasn't Stevens who sought him out to fix the mangled construction, but oil company Veco Corp. It's not clear how involved Veco had been in the do-it-yourself phase of the remodeling. But Paone says Veco was in charge when he came on board. Veco hired Paone and and collected and reviewed the $100,000 worth of invoices he submitted as the project progressed. Paone would then receive payments signed by Stevens -- checks which according to Paone appeared to come from a special account created for the renovation. So far Stevens has refused to explain the arrangement. But it has piqued the FBI's interest and investigators are looking into it. Paone says the FBI interviewed him about six months ago and that he testified before a grand jury in December. In response to questions about the remodeling, Stevens' spokesman sent me a statement saying the senator is not commenting.
Representative William Jefferson, Democrat of Louisiana, was indicted yesterday on federal charges of racketeering, money-laundering, and soliciting more than $400,000 in bribes in connection with years of trying to broker business deals in Africa. The charges came almost two years after investigators raided Jefferson's home in Washington and found $90,000 stuffed in a box in his freezer. The indictment in federal court in Alexandria, Va., lists 16 alleged violations. Jefferson is charged with racketeering, soliciting bribes, wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy.
By the way FOX is trying to make this arrest out to be a really, really big deal but the truth is this is the first and only dem that has been charged with corruption.

You remember back to the lead up to the War in Iraq the following where used to help make the case that this was a good idea; weapons of mass, destruction, deliver materials of mass destruction, nuclear weapons and linkage to Al Qaida. None of which turned out to be true. Once again I point out that back in 2004 run for the White House John Kerry had it right when he said Over the weekend we learned of a plan to Blow the hell out of JFK Airport and the pipe line that provides the jet fuel which is piped in from New Jersey. This is about the 3rd or 4th "major" busts in the past 6-8 months and as far as I can tell not one police officer, FBI agent, CIA agent or Homeland Security agent was killed or even injured. Gee does that mean that John Kerry was right back in 2004. Looks that way to me. If this latest group turns out to be real, it tells me that while terrorism is absolutely a problem (but we've known that for a long, long time.) Check out my post on April 29, 2007 where I show a bar chart for the last 17 years showing the number of Terror Attacks. I actually had to drop off the years during the 80's so I could make the chart readable. Anyway before people go all crazy because I said " If this latest group turns out to be real ." By that I mean that there are some CRAZY people out there and until they get to the bottom of what was going on I think it's wise not to go off the deep end. Having said that, as John Kerry said "we will need the best-trained and the most well-equipped and the most capable military" and I add that goes for our intelligence and law enforcement operations too.

From all reports she is now in jail. Poor thing. At his sentencing Tuesday, former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby will learn whether he will go to prison and, if so, whether it will be right away for his conviction in the CIA leak case. Once Libby's fate is known, then there is this ultimate question: Will President Bush pardon him? Hmmmmmm when Bush was a Governor of Texas did he pardon anyone? I don't think so.

Well here we go again another O'Reilly ambush, and charges of outrageous behavior by the "SELECTOR PROGRESSIVE'S" in Boulder High School. In his Impact Segment on 5/30/2007 he did his little Power Point thing showing 6 slides which I have shown here in this post. The full Transcript is about 30 pages long which you can read
here. I've taken from the transcript the surrounding text to what O'Reilly used in his slides with the full CONTEXT in Blue and the portion O'Reilly used in his slides in Red. It is by design that O'Reilly takes things out of context because first it will make his point and second he knows most people will not do any follow up, especially the TRUE O'Reilly believers. Also before we get started I'd like to say that as I put this Post together I found that not only does he use creative editing while taking things out of context, he isn't worried about the order that he puts these slides in as long as it works to his advantage. I've numbered the six slides (1), (2), (3). . . (6) and labeled them as BO-IMAGE-01 and so on so that you can see the order he used the slides. Also until I got a hold of the transcript all I had to go on was what I saw on the O'Reilly Show. So you can imagine my surprise what I discovered by reading the transcript and that is of the 30 pages of transcript 28 dealt with questions from the kids. And finally read the very last question in the transcript and the response. Instead of this being something to be ashamed of the students at Boulder have taught us all something about learning and understanding. Something Bill O'Reilly will never understand, he's to busy SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL IN HIS ZONE. Joel Becker: Hi. My name is Joel Becker, and I'm a clinical psychologist. I'm going to ducktail off a little bit of what Andee said, but I think I'm going to go in a little bit of a different direction, because (1) I'm going to encourage you to have sex, and I'm going to encourage you to use drugs appropriately. So, my, my approach to this is to be realistic, and I think as a psychologist and a health educator, it's more important to educate you in a direction that you might actually stick to. So I want to, I'm going to stay mostly today talking about the sex side, because that's the area I know more about. But, they're tricky. And even through in your teens, even when your 16 and 17, you could have thousands of erections, sometimes 50 in a day, and you know because you counted (laughter from audience), [indecipherable phrase] the act of putting on a condom, for me at least, makes me lose my erection almost every time. (2) That's the thing they don't tell you about condoms. If you're lucky enough to get them on, and you still stay hard, it's hard to stay hard. (laughter from audience) And it doesn't feel as good. Joel Becker: I would add onto what Sanho said in terms of that same thing I was talking about, in terms of your emotional development. I mean, I agree with Sanho that the human animal has seemed to want to change its consciousness to some other consciousness since the beginning of time, and I think that people are going to continue to do that. But, I think we have to find a way for people to do that in the safest way possible-harm reduction. And there's no question that people's worlds are changed after their consciousness is changed. Well, you have to really sort of think, am I ready to have my world changed? I'm 14 years old. Maybe I'm not ready to see what one sees on LSD. Maybe I'm not ready to have the feelings that mescaline provides in my body, or ecstasy, because a lot of those feelings have to do with feelings of being out of control, and they can be very scary to a person who doesn't have a strong enough sense of themselves, and that's why people end up having bad trips at young ages. They're just not ready. As a psychologist, I know the history of the use of psychedelics. There's a very famous man named Timothy Leary at Harvard who did therapy with LSD. (6) Even today, there are psychiatrists who will do sessions under the influence of ecstasy. If I had some, maybe I'd do it with somebody, but I don't, (laughter from audience) you know. I haven't tried it but there are people that do it. Sanho Tree: Also, there's an unintended consequence, again, of abstinence-based models, particularly when they're combined with religious fundamentalism and indoctrination. If it works for you, well, great, it works for you. But what if it fails? What happens then to a person who perhaps may have made a mistake. We all make mistakes; this is how we learn. This is a very important way of learning, from mistakes. But you know, taking someone who may have made a mistake, and you make them feel much worse about themselves-that they have betrayed their covenant with God, that they're dirty, they're impure, something is wrong with them. It's a mistake. We all make mistakes. We all experiment. (5) It's very natural for young people to experiment with same-sex relationships. Perhaps you don't talk about it much. A lot of people experiment and never go on to become homosexual. They go on and lead very productive lives, etcetera, etcetera. Well, if you've had that indoctrination, you think, "Well, maybe there's something wrong with me. Maybe I've sinned, I'm dirty,"-all these other things that take a bad situation and make it much worse, in my opinion. Joel Becker: I would also vote for the legalization of most drugs. I think that we're missing a real opportunity here to regulate something in a way that will work a lot better. I happen to live in the state of California in the city of Los Angeles, which has been described as America's Amsterdam. We have legalized medical marijuana in the state of California. There are 110 marijuana clubs in the city of Los Angeles. There was an article on the cover of the Los Angeles Magazine that said "When Did LA Become, Like, the Capitol of Marijuana, Like, in the US?" And it is. (3) If you want to get marijuana in the city of Los Angeles, all you've got to do is go to a doctor who will write you a 'script. You go to a club. You go and you buy somewhat regulated production marijuana so you know you're not getting stuff with chemicals in it. (4) They not only sell marijuana, they sell hash, they sell baked goods. We have brownies, we have cookies, all the things you might want, so come on over. (laughter from audience) Here are the two videos of the O'Reilly Factor that deal with this subject. If you have an open mind you will see these videos for what they are. . . CRAP. They are one more opportunity to for Bill O'Reilly to slam what he labels the SECULAR PROGRESSIVES. There are so many lies and half truths in these pieces it hard to understand how the FOX NOISE folks let it on the air. At one point he calls out the Daily Camera a local Boulder News paper of not covering this story. Turns out THEY WHERE THE ONES THAT FIRST BROKE THIS STORY. I think Billy must have read my Blog on 5/31/2007 titled FAIR, BALANCED AND STUPID. The post points out what a bunch of non-thinkers people that watch FOX really are because in the second tape Billy tells his audience just how smart they truly are for watching the Factor. Do you ever wonder why it is Bill won't come clean with his little dance with one of his ex-producers but rather chose to pay her off to close the case. Was he just being a Secular Progressive back than? Poor Billy to listen to him it sounds like the world is going to hell in a hand basket. I've seen where some Boulder High students are trying to get a petition together to demand a full and formal apology from both The Fox News Corporation and Mr. William O'Reilly himself. I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. NEVER, EVER. The IRAQ War started 3-19-2003 I started my first Blog on 7-5-2003 Posted my first thought about how the Iraq War was going on 8-24-2003 Here is what I said at that time. Many people say there is no similarity between Vietnam and Iraq. I say they are dead wrong. It's not the war that we are fighting that is the same, it is absolutely different especially now that it's become a civil war. What I was talking about then is the lies and the lying liars that tell them. Regardless of what you believe was the rational for getting us into this war the truth is we are losing more young Americans everyday, in a war that is un-winnable. IT'S A CIVIL WAR FOR GOD'S SAKE.

A new Newsweek poll out this weekend exposed "gaps" in America's knowledge of history and current events.
Perhaps most alarmingly, 41% of Americans answered 'Yes' to the question "Do you think Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq was directly involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001?"
That total is actually up 5 points since September 2004.
Further, a majority of people couldn't identify Saudia Arabia as the country of origin of most of the 9/11 hijackers, even given the question in multiple choice format. 20% answered Iraq, while 14% believed the hijackers came from Iran.

BIG BAD BILL-O
Today I'm doing a three for the price of one on the WORLD'S CRAZEST TALKING HEAD ON TV, Bill O'Reilly. He is in no way a journalist and if you think he is maybe you need to take some time off.
The first two deals with a gal by the name of Robin Swanson, a Democratic Consultant. In the first video he's being so DUMB he can't understand what is being said. Stated another way he doesn't like the answer because it doesn't fit into his simple minded way of thinking. In this first video he just cuts her off after talking over her.
The second video would be funny except it is truly sad. The one thing he does say that makes sense is that he's a SIMPLE man. Well he's got that right. He talks over her and then cuts he off and bids her a due. How crude is that. Media Matters will document it and the O-MAN will once again deny that he cut her off.

The BIG JERK O'Reilly is the dumbest guy on the block. He claims he doesn't understand her answer. He doesn't know what she is saying, he doesn't understand her answer and then he won't let her finish.

In this video the BIG ASS takes it one step further by cutting her off and bidding her a due. Man I'd love to see someone just get up and walk off the set on this guy. That would be great.
THE BIG DUMB ASS AND A JERK TOO

The BIG DUMB ASS and a JERK TOO is the last video. This one deals with his obsession with what goes on in High Schools, in this case it's Boulder High in Boulder, Colorado.
See my June 2nd Post for the original story. In this video he has two students that go to Boulder. One didn't think the conference was appropriate the other said it was great, his name is Jesse Lange.
I think he is 17 years old and as you'll see in the video hold hi own against the CRAZY MAN.
You can always tell when O'Reilly is about to go all crazy. In this case look at his facial expression as Jesse quotes from his book "Factor For Kids". He has the dumbest grin on his face. Then he goes crazy and loses it by saying "I KNOW WHAT YOU PIN HEADS DO". Can you imagine O'Reilly saying anyone take things out of context when he does that routinely, just look at that June 2nd post to see how he does it.
It was great just watching Jesse Lange a 17 year old out debate the Dirty Old Man O'Reilly.

I get so tired - and infuriated - at the biased news reporting in print, on radio and in the TV news.
They tell us nothing but how many soldiers were killed by George Bush on that particular day. That screed is usually followed up by a shot of the latest anti-American protests and where the next one will be held. It seems they are okay with torture too, so long as al-Qaida does the torturing. I wonder if the worst thing these poor souls experienced was having panties put on their heads or having dogs bark at them while naked? I doubt it.
The Democrats are trying real hard to manufacture a loss in Iraq ... all for politics. There is a huge amount of evidence that the surge is working but it, too, is not being reported. We've got al-Qaida on the run in Iraq and we're winning over the sheiks. It's too bad the American public doesn't hear about it.

- - - they are really misleading all of America in a profound way. The war on terror is less - - it is occasionally military, and it will be, and it will continue to be for a long time. And we will need the best-trained and the most well-equipped and the most capable military, such as we have today.
But it's primarily an intelligence and law enforcement operation that requires cooperation around the world - - the very thing this administration is worst at. And most importantly, the war on terror is also an engagement in the Middle East economically, socially, culturally, in a way that we haven't embraced, because otherwise we're inviting a clash of civilizations. And I think this administration's arrogant and ideological policy is taking America down a more dangerous path.
