I've been putting off my effort to get rid of the stuff I haven't used in a year or longer because I needed to take a break. But now I'm rested and ready to go. I have a full month ahead of me with just a few interruptions so I should make a big dent in the rest of this stuff. As usual we'll see. * - - - - - * In todays post look at the one by Rachel Maddow. She talks about who saw this financial meld-down 10 years ago. He was dead on back then and they wouldn't, didn't listen to him. It'll be interesting to see what the congress does about this problem and what regulations they put in to control this crap. I don't have a lot of confidence that they'll fix the problem. * - - - - - *GAMBLING WITH HEALTH CARE 4 OF 5
See post on 3/23/2009 for a little background.
* *HE SAW IT COMING. . . WHY DIDN'T THE OTHERS?
How did the economy end up this way? Back in 1999, the Gramm, Leach, Blily Act was signed, allowing for major bank and insurance deregulations. Only 8 Senators voted against it. Rachel Maddow talks to Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-ND, one of the Senators who voted against the measure.
* *IS THERE ANYONE DUMMER THAN THIS WOMAN?
* *by Charles Lemos,
Fresh off her calls for the people of Minnesota to become 'armed and dangerous," here's the correspondent from behind enemy lines Michelle Bachmann pretending she's a member of Congress. She thinks she's grilling Secretary Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke but all she accomplishes is demonstrating a profound ignorance.BACHMANN: What provision in the Constitution could you point to to give authority for the actions that have been taken by the Treasury since March of '08? GEITHNER: Oh, well, the -- the Congress legislated in the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act a range of very important new authorities. BACHMANN: Sir, in the Constitution. What -- what in the Constitution could you point to to -- to give authority to the Treasury for the extraordinary actions that have been taken? GEITHNER: Every action that the Treasury and the Fed and the FDIC is -- is -- has been using authority granted by this body -- by this body, the Congress. BACHMANN: And by -- in the Constitution, what could you point to? GEITHNER: Under the laws of the land, of course.Maybe, there's a remedial course she can attend or perhaps we should pen a Legislating for Dummies guide.
STILL BUSHED
Keith Olbermann has listed the various scandles in the Bush administration. Here are three more.
Immigration Detention Centers as bad as Gitmo. March 25: Still Bushed: Amnesty International released a disturbing report about U.S. Immigration Detention Centers, which holds foreigners -- and in some cases even Americans -- for not having naturalization papers. * *WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD
Keith Olbermann picks the three worst persons in the world.
O'Reilly turns on NBC, again. March 25: Fox News' Bill O'Reilly took to blaming Jeff Zucker for ThinkProgress.org blogger Amanda Terkel's post about an O'Reilly producer ambushing her. * *DOGS RULE - YOU CAN SEE THE LOVE

PRETTY GOOD JOKES
BUMPER STICKERS FOR LIFE
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD? . . .
JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
MY KIDS
My God I love dogs.
BTW, what good is a picnic table if you can't lay on it?
