I am so happy for all the black Americans that are over the age of about 50. They most likely did not believe that this day would come when a black man would be elected to the highest office in the land.

I cried for them. I cried for me. I cried for America.

Maybe one day we will no longer have a memory of all the injustice that the blacks have gone through. Part of the reason I was able to over look the remarks of Rev. Jeremiah Wright is because while I never went through the hurt and pain that he did I knew that it was bad. It's a little like knowing that you don't have to touch a hot stove to know that it'll burn you.

We treated the black people in ways that are unthinkable today. As I watched the returns last night they interviewed a number of people and many like me had tears in their eyes. Some were happy and sad at the same time because their mother, father or grand parents weren't there to see this day.

Good luck Mr. President.
