HAPPY HALLOWEEN

The White House is working to enact a wide array of federal regulations, many of which would weaken government rules aimed at protecting consumers and the environment, before President Bush leaves office in January.
The new rules would be among the most controversial deregulatory steps of the Bush era and could be difficult for his successor to undo. Some would ease or lift constraints on private industry, including power plants, mines and farms.
Those and other regulations would help clear obstacles to some commercial ocean-fishing activities, ease controls on emissions of pollutants that contribute to global warming, relax drinking-water standards and lift a key restriction on mountaintop coal mining.
Once such rules take effect, they typically can be undone only through a laborious new regulatory proceeding, including lengthy periods of public comment, drafting and mandated reanalysis.
WHAT THE HELL. . . THE MESS IN IRAQ WASN'T ENOUGH FOR BUSH.

Speaking of Bush, any bets on him giving a pardon to Ted Stevens.

I've seen the Rev. Wright attack ad against Barack Obama. Not sure who is behind it but the name sounds familiar. I'm thinking Sean Hannity.
Wonder if John McCain will object. I'm taking bets.

I got a letter yesterday from my HIP Dr. He's scheduled my hip replacement surgery for Jan. 6, 2009. It's getting closer.
He wants me to start talking Ferrous Sulfate up to three times a day. My question is what the hell is FS?

BUT WHO SHALL GUARD THE GUARDIANS? 5 OF 6
This week on the JOURNAL, Bill Moyers spoke with economist James K. Galbraith about the causes of the economic crisis and how the U.S. might best move forward.
Galbraith advocated expanding government regulation of the economy: "Here in the United States the capacity to handle the crisis exists. What we need is a government that's willing to use that capacity, that believes in it... Regulation is not a burden on business. When it's done properly, it's a framework which favors the more efficient, the more progressive, the more satisfactory elements of business that are prepared to work within the guidelines set by a larger public purpose." * *NURSES NEEDED 5 OF 5

BUMPER STICKERS FOR LIFE
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?
HILLARY CLINTON: As First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken cross the road. But this really isn't about me: Although my experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross that road in their lifetime.
MY KIDS
My God I love dogs.
BTW, what good is a picnic table if you can't lay on it?
