80,000 people showed up yesterday to see and listen to Obama speak yesterday in Oregon. That's the kind and size of the crowed I remember seeing when JFK made his run for the White House.

I listen to and watch C-SPAN especially the morning Washington Journal call in show where people call in and express their opinions. I swear there are a lot of people in this country that say they are democrats but because they didn't get the candidate that they first supported they say they'll vote for McCain rather then the candidate that the party chose.

MCCAIN A FAIRY TALE

The other day John McCain rolled out what he hoped to have achieved at the end of his first term as President. I call it

A FAIRY TALE.

By January 2013, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom.
The Iraq War has been won.
Iraq is a functioning democracy, although still suffering from the lingering effects of decades of tyranny and centuries of sectarian tension.
Violence still occurs, but it is spasmodic and much reduced.
Civil war has been prevented; militias disbanded; the Iraqi Security Force is professional and competent;
al Qaeda in Iraq has been defeated;
The Government of Iraq is capable of imposing its authority in every province of Iraq and defending the integrity of its borders.
The United States maintains a military presence there, but a much smaller one, and it does not play a direct combat role.
The threat from a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan has been greatly reduced but not eliminated. U.S. and NATO forces remain there to help finish the job, and continue operations against the remnants of al Qaeda.
The Government of Pakistan has cooperated with the U.S. in successfully adapting the counterinsurgency tactics that worked so well in Iraq and Afghanistan to its lawless tribal areas where al Qaeda fighters are based.
The increase in actionable intelligence that the counterinsurgency produced led to the capture or death of Osama bin Laden, and his chief lieutenants.
There is no longer any place in the world al Qaeda can consider a safe haven.
Increased cooperation between the United States and its allies in the concerted use of military, diplomatic, and economic power and reforms in the intelligence capabilities of the United States has disrupted terrorist networks and exposed plots around the world.
There still has not been a major terrorist attack in the United States since September 11, 2001.

It's all good. Just makes you wonder why it wasn't accomplished in the last 5-6 years.

THEY NEED TO PUT THIS TO MUSIC

McCain does a major FLIP / FLOP on Torture, something he should know about from personal experience.

It just seems to me that you can F/F on an issue that has rather little effect on the bigger picture like where to build a bridge or change the number of votes to over ride a veto. But torture is a CORE issue.

McCain has had experience in this area and yet he has done the big Flip/Flop. Go figure.

Keith Olbermann has listed the various scandles in the Bush administration. Here are three more.

Troops lack the equipment they need. U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that U.S. troops did not get the bomb resistant vehicles they needed because this could "potentially compete with other, longer-term procurement priorities."

WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

Keith Olbermann picks the three worst persons in the world.

O'Reilly targets Syracuse University. Bill O'Reilly sent a producer to Syracuse University to speak out against professor Boyce Watkins. O'Reilly, through his producer, claimed Watkins is using the name of the school to spread the lie that "O'Reilly wants to lynch Michelle Obama." But what Watkins said isn't really untrue.
