Today is the big day in Pennsylvania. I just have a feeling that Barack Obama is going to end up the winner.

I wonder is Bill O'Reilly taking notes from Michelle Malkin? More tomorrow.

WHAT'S IN A NAME

You would think that a city the size of Seattle could come up with a better name for a Trolly, don't you think.

As long as I'm raging against Seattle here's another one.

NO SURPRISE HERE RIGHT

042008_no_surprise.jpg

You knew this already didn't you. I mean we have heard for years and years that Washington is a turn-style and the Lobbyist center of the world. So when the New York Times reported that most of these so called military experts are in the take for not only the Pentagon but for big business too.

Here is just a snippet of the article.

To the public, these men are members of a familiar fraternity, presented tens of thousands of times on television and radio as "military analysts" whose long service has equipped them to give authoritative and unfettered judgments about the most pressing issues of the post-Sept. 11 world.

Hidden behind that appearance of objectivity, though, is a Pentagon information apparatus that has used those analysts in a campaign to generate favorable news coverage of the administration's wartime performance, an examination by The New York Times has found.

The effort, which began with the buildup to the Iraq war and continues to this day, has sought to exploit ideological and military allegiances, and also a powerful financial dynamic: Most of the analysts have ties to military contractors vested in the very war policies they are asked to assess on air.

Those business relationships are hardly ever disclosed to the viewers, and sometimes not even to the networks themselves. But collectively, the men on the plane and several dozen other military analysts represent more than 150 military contractors either as lobbyists, senior executives, board members or consultants. The companies include defense heavyweights, but also scores of smaller companies, all part of a vast assemblage of contractors scrambling for hundreds of billions in military business generated by the administration's war on terror. It is a furious competition, one in which inside information and easy access to senior officials are highly prized.

I've often wondered about the so called "democratic analysts" that FOX uses and now we find out the same problem exists for the military only it twice as bad.

I just don't get why NBC, ABC and CBS didn't do a better job of vet these guys.

WHERE IS RONALD REGAN WHEN YOU NEED HIM?

Trying to stem the infiltration of militia fighters, American forces have begun to build a massive concrete wall that will partition Sadr City, the densely populated Shiite neighborhood in the Iraqi capital.

The construction, which began Tuesday night, is intended to turn the southern quarter of Sadr City near the international Green Zone into a protected enclave, secured by Iraqi and American forces, where the Iraqi government can undertake reconstruction efforts.

So this is the way we BRING PEACE TO IRAQ . . . WITH BIG ASS WALLS.

BUSHED

Keith Olbermann has listed the various scandles in the Bush administration. Here are three more.

Outcome - U.S. stays in Iraq. In Bushed, Keith Olbermann talks about the report issued by the National Defense University on the war in Iraq which says that regardless of the U.S. is winning or losing the war, troops have to stay.

WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

Keith Olbermann picks the three worst persons in the world.

Morris rewrites Clinton history. While discussing a "communist law firm" Sen. Hillary Clinton once worked at, and when asked if that made her a communist, Dick Morris said, "at that time, at that point in her life, she may well have been." In previous Clinton history he wrote, Morris claimed the exact opposite.

Q&A FOR RETIREE'S

Question: Why are retirees so slow to clean out the basement, attic or garage?

Answer: They know that as soon as they do, one of their adult kids will want to store stuff there.
