Did you hear if we are safer now that we have been fighting in a IRAQ for over 5 years.

As I mentioned several times here I'm headed to the Kitsap Democratic 23rd LD Convention tomorrow. I've been getting tons of email reminding me of the up coming even. One stands out because it gave a list of things to bring.

What caught my eye was the last item on the list. Am I applying for a job with the CIA?

Credentials Items

- Know Which Precinct You Are In, because sign-in will be grouped by it.
- Your Voter Registration Card
- Your Delegate/Alternate Card (from the caucus, not required, just in case)
- A Driver's License or other Photo ID (with accurate address)
- A Utility Bill (Shows your current address and proof of residency)

My daughter and her kids came by yesterday for a visit. Her newest baby Jacob is Sooooo cute he's almost 4 months old now. Reminds me of me when I was that age. Alexis was busy doing some cleaning. I need her to come over once a week.

WHY DO WE LET THIS HAPPEN TO US

In the past two weeks, the following events transpired.

A Department of Justice memo, authored by John Yoo, was released which authorized torture and presidential lawbreaking.
It was revealed that the Bush administration declared the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights to be inapplicable to "domestic military operations" within the U.S.
The U.S. Attorney General appears to have fabricated a key event leading to the 9/11 attacks and made patently false statements about surveillance laws and related lawsuits.
Barack Obama went bowling in Pennsylvania and had a low score.

Here are the number of times, according to NEXIS, that various topics have been mentioned in the media over the past thirty days:

"Yoo and torture" - 102

"Yoo and Fourth Amendment" - 16
"Obama and bowling" - 1,043
"Obama and Wright" - More than 3,000 (too many to be counted)
"Obama and patriotism" - 1,607
"Clinton and Lewinsky" - 1,079

The sad thing is that the mainstream press really does believe that things like Obama's poor bowling skills and the Clinton's tax returns are more important stories than, say, the trillion dollar war that continues to rage on with no end in sight or a collapsing economy. It's been said, people care about the petty stuff because the media loves to tell themselves that they do.

VA hospitals won't help vets vote - Veterans Affairs says their hospitals will not serve as a place for injured veterans to register, nor will it help vets get to registration places since it's considered "partisan political activity."

Keith Olbermann picks the three worst persons in the world.

Roberston claims Islam isn't a religion - On his TV network, Pat Robertson said, "I want to say it again, and again, and again: Islam is not a religion, it is a political system bent on world domination. It masquerades as a religion."
