PROUD OF AMERICA

It's been years since I've had the feeling in my heart that our country is on the right track, yesterday changed all that. South Carolina gave Barack Obama a big win. . . a very big win. And he did it the OLD FASHIONED way . . . he earned it.
It was especially fitting that he won this primary on the week that we celebrate Rev. Martin Luther King, who in his I HAVE A DREAM speech said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." His dream may have come true yesterday with the Obama win. As in Iowa and New Hampshire, South Carolina crossed all the lines. Young, old, male, female, Black, White and Hispanic. He won the hearts of Americans. It reminds me of my dad when I was a kid in the 1950's and early 1960's well before the civil right marches started. He always voted for this one Washington State democratic representative who happened to be black. My dad said he liked the guy because he was honest and did his best to serve the people in our district. A simple man and not very complicated that was my dad. He really didn't look at the color of your skin. He wasn't well educated but he knew the difference between right and wrong, except when it came to drinking. So for me THIS ONE'S FOR YOU DAD: FIRED UP!!! READY TO GO!!! YES WE CAN!!! *Click here to watch Obama in S.C.
