THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE PART TWO
An unclassified summary of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame's employment history at the spy agency, disclosed for the first time today in a court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, indicates that Plame was "covert" when her name became public in July 2003.
The summary is part of an attachment to Fitzgerald's memorandum to the court supporting his recommendation that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Cheney's former top aide, spend 2-1/2 to 3 years in prison for obstructing the CIA leak investigation.
The employment history indicates that while she was assigned to CPD, Plame, "engaged in temporary duty travel overseas on official business." The report says, "she traveled at least seven times to more than ten times." When overseas Plame traveled undercover, "sometimes in true name and sometimes in alias -- but always using cover -- whether official or non-official (NOC) -- with no ostensible relationship to the CIA."
Back on March 18, 2007 I did a post on this subject and I felt at that time she was indeed undercover. Back than there was this NOISE MACHINE that wanted to discredit Valera Plame and her husband. One of the people doing this smear job is Victory Toensing.
Go back to that March 18th post and listen to Hannity and Toensing LIE, LIE, LIE. . .
As I said in that post. "We await their apologies and statements of correction."
You won't hear it.
FAIR, BALANCED AND STUPID
I came across this study on how much time is devoted to three areas of the news by CNN, MSNBC and FOX. It's pretty interesting.
I find it interesting that FOX NEWS gave less than half the airtime that MSNBC did to coverage of the war in Iraq -- 15 percent. So much for that Your Fair and Balanced News channel.
So if FOX wasn't doing the Iraq War what the hell where they doing. Looking again at the numbers--Anna Nicole Smith. Coverage of her death trailed just barely the airtime spent on the Iraq policy debate, accounting for 9.6% of all the Fox content studied (versus 10.1% for the Iraq policy debate). Fox also stood out for its lack of coverage on the firings of the U.S. attorneys, compared with the other channels.
The story, which gained real momentum in mid March, consumed a mere 2% of Fox's total airtime. CNN devoted twice that percent (4%) and MSNBC four times (8%).
Before you file this in the round file, think about this. There was a study about global perceptions that came out in 2003. In it, participants were asked three questions (that would have correctly been answered 'NO'):
1.) Has it been proven that Saddam was working closely with Al Qaeda before September 11th? 2.) Have weapons of mass destruction been found in Iraq? 3.) Did world opinion favor America going into Iraq?Later in the study, the researchers compared the answers to these questions against where the participants said they got their news and information from. 80 percent of Fox News Channel viewers answered 'YES' to at least one of these questions. (With 2/3 thinking an Iraq-Al Qaeda link had been proven, 1/3 thinking WMDs had been found in Iraq and 35 percent thinking world opinion supported the invasion.)
Being the most watched - doesn't seem to lead to more informed viewers.

Can we really fail to see how this works, not just on Hardball, but also in Outlook? And this is the mainstream American press corps, not the "right-wing noise machine." Yes, these are the hero tales they now attach to all Big GOP White House candidates. McCain was sliding-and Ole Fred might get in. So he'd get the tale now, Carlson said.
But Big Major Dems? They're just too fat. They're just too strident, too girlie. The press corps' useful Dems even go into print complaining about their "bangs." (In October 2000, this same loathsome tool was still telling us Gore's a Big Liar.) Even when Dems turn out to be right about every known issue-even when they become Global Heros-they still drag out simpering losers like Garrigan and let her recite her goony tunes about what she can't imagine. (Al Gore doesn't look like Worf!)

PRETTY GOOD JOKES
HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITHOUT KNOWING THESE THINGS?
In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts. . . So in old England, when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down." It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's"
Many years ago in England, pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle" is the phrase inspired by this practice.
