A LOOK BACK PART 1 OF 2
I also came across this next post back on 12/16/2005. It too is worth repeating WITH UPDATES.
I WORRY (12/16/2005)
I received a letter from someone that said he liked my BLOG but that he "was more conservative so I disagree with many of your opinions" which is fine. As a result it caused me to send the following reply and gave me an idea to add an on going Headline called "I worry".
Thanks for the comment on my BLOG, I enjoy putting it together each day.
You said you are more conservative so you disagree with many of my opinions. I scratch my head and wonder how could that be.
- I worry over the more than 2153 troops that have died in a war of choice. You don't really believe that there was a connection between Saddam and 9/11 do you.
- UPDATE: 3434 dead.
- I worry about a trade deficit that is close to $70 billion dollars.
- UPDATE: $296,410,457,373.99 billion.
- I worry about the disconnect between America and the Troops. What sacrifice have we made.
- UPDATE: This hasn't changed one bit.
- I worry that we will build a NASCAR Racetrack with taxpayer dollars and like the Bremerton Golden Tunnel we (the people) won't be able to stop it.
- UPDATE: Looks like I was wrong about the Track but not the Tunnel.
- I worry that we have to many LIFE TIME congressmen that don't seem to look out for the people they represent.
- UPDATE: This hasn't changed. It's still true.
- I worry that a Medicare Drug Program is so screwed up that most people don't understand it and even if it has some benefits (which I doubt) they won't take advantage of it.
- UPDATE: This drug program is good for the manufactures not the people.
- I worry that the Religious Right is the only voice that is getting through and that really worries me because that's been the problem throughout history when people can not compromise but hold on to an ideology that is my way or the highway.
- UPDATE: This is changing I think but it's still not the way the founding fathers wanted it. And don't tell me I HATE GOD now.
- I worry about the $226 billion and rising that we've spent on Iraq. I wonder what we could have done with that kind of money in America.
- UPDATE: It's now $428,450,400,000 and counting.
- I worry about the $8 trillion National Debt that my kids and grandkids will have to pay.
- UPDATE: $8,813,595,226,667.05 trillion.
- I worry that no one in this current administration can admit they made a mistake, about anything.
- UPDATE: What a laugh this is, NOTHINGS CHANGED here.
- I worry that Donald Rumsfeld is in charge of Defense.
- UPDATE: He's gone but the pain lingers on.
- I worry that congress has so little to do that they can spend time on the BOGUS Christmas issue. But then I remembered they came back to talk about the Terri Schiavo case.
- UPDATE: Now it's the WAR.
- I worry that given a chance they will screw up Social Security.
- UPDATE: Thank GOD for the War it keeps them from doing anything else.
- I worry that Bill O'Reilly's head will one day explode.
- UPDATE: Hasn't happened yet but he's working on it.
- I DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE ATTACK ON CHRISTMAS.
These are just some of the things I worry and think about. I don't know if I'm conservative, liberal or independent my guess is all three.
Anyway hope you continue to read my BLOG, but I'm running out of Yogi stuff and will need to go to George Bush sayings to get me through for awhile.
A LOOK BACK PART 2 OF 2
In yesterdays post I talked about the Smart Car that I ordered. Well this morning I was doing some research on past postings and came across this one that I posted on 12/21/2005.
As you read this post remember that just a few short weeks ago they had the big auto show and what kind of cars did the US makers put on display? Yep, BIG ASS CARS that get 12 miles to a gallon. Well here is one result of these guys not having a clue as to what they should be doing. - - Toyota has overtaken GM as the BIGGEST Automaker in the world.
As the post back in 12/2005 clearly says SMALL IS BETTER. It was true back then it's even more so today. Check these current gas prices out.
DETROIT ARE YOU LISTENING (12/21/2005)
Subcompact Demand Tips Scales to Japan
After piling into minivans, sport-utility vehicles and even pickup trucks, Japanese automakers are crowding into yet another corner of the U.S. market -- itty-bitty economy cars.
Japan's Big Three -- Toyota Motor Corp., Honda Motor Co. and Nissan Motor Co. -- all have new small cars hitting U.S. showrooms next year. Toyota is bringing out the Yaris, its best-selling model in Europe. Nissan has the Versa. At Detroit's North American International Auto Show, which begins Jan. 8, Honda will unwrap the Fit, another hot seller in Europe and Japan.
Is Detroit going to continue to build the BIG MUSCLE car and lose sales to the Japanese?
Watch Andy Rooney's take on what Detroit needs to do to fix the problem.
